Beyond Caregiving: Building Reciprocal Supports In Aging FamiliesConversations about aging in the I/DD community often center on one-directional care, where we are focused on answering the question of who will support the person with a disability when parents are no longer able to do so. This session challenges that assumption by reframing aging as a shared, reciprocal process. Every family member’s role evolves over time, and support flows in many directions across generations. This session will highlight how families can use Charting the LifeCourse tools to plan for evolving roles across generations, with a focus on considering reciprocal supports and meaningful contributions from every family member.
Note: This training currently is ONLY open to employees of New Jersey DDD, DDD/Medicaid Approved Providers, and individuals with disabilities and family members.
