Day One: Laying The Foundation For Community-Based Supports

Day one focuses on the key principles and federal mandates that shape service delivery, including the HCBS Settings Rule. It connects these requirements to the broader disability rights movement, showing how they can advance equity, inclusion, and self-determination.

Participants will explore concepts like meaningful participation, community integration, and self-direction. Activities will prompt reflection on current agency practices and their impact on individuals’ opportunities to live valued, connected lives in their communities.

Note: This training currently is ONLY open to employees of New Jersey CBVI, DDD, and DVRS, DDD/Medicaid Approved Providers, DVRS approved vendors, and individuals with disabilities and family members.
This is a training series and taking both Day 1 and Day 2 will be the mandatory pre-requisite to taking any further trainings under the Meaningful Days category offered subsequently.

Certificates: Certificates of Attendance with training title and duration will be provided.
