Supporting Community Life Engagement For People With Intellectual And Developmental DisabilitiesThis session will focus on how day services and supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities can support community life engagement (CLE). CLE includes all the ways that people with and without disabilities access and participate in their communities outside of employment. Activities can include volunteer work; postsecondary, adult, or continuing education; accessing community facilities such as the library, gym, or recreation center; and any other activities that people with and without disabilities do in their spare time. Research on supports for CLE, tools for service providers, and new opportunities to learn more and engage in a community of practice on CLE will be presented.
