Understanding Depression, Mood Disorders, And DisabilityThis workshop will provide participants with information to assist in the identification of depression and mood disorders in individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). The presentation will help participants understand how barriers to communication often undermine the identification of these disorders and prevent providing effective supports and treatment. The presenation will also address effective support strategies and ways to determine when and how to adapt treatment and supports to best meet the needs of the person. Topics related to mental health treatment and behavior supports will be discussed.
Note: To meet the training needs of the entire state, there is a limit of participants per agency for this course.
