Holding The Compass 6: Beyond Guardianship - Exploring Decision-Making Options At 18When young people with disabilities turn 18, families are often told they need to pursue guardianship, sometimes without understanding what that really means or knowing that options exist. In this session, we’ll explore a range of alternatives to full guardianship, including supported decision-making, powers of attorney, healthcare proxies, and partial kinds of legal guardianship. You'll learn about each option, how to match decision-making supports to your child’s needs, and how to plan in a way that protects your child’s rights while validating the concerns that keep you up at night.
Certificates: Certificates of Attendance with training title and duration will be provided.
